Agenda/discussion points:

Update on Client Advisory Groups and Events

Trading Places – Dave updated on Trading Paces at Ron Eager house. No problems busy as ever and a great experience for volunteers.
Plummer Court Monday – Group starting to get established. Quieter than the Wednesday group because it is people’s first day in. Volunteers to be aware that people will be feeling Ill during the Monday group.
Plummer Court Wednesday – Group was busy this week and some of the same people that were there on Monday so relations with volunteers are starting to build.
Recovery Clinic – Terry feedback that the Thursday group is quiet only 2 clients. Good for the NUCF to still have a presence there to give support and sign post people.

UKRW2015
The group spent time on the design for the T shirts to be worn to the walk. Logo, wording and colours were agreed. Richie to contact a local printers around costs. Chris to investigate on line options and Terry to make contact with another local printing contact and feedback to the group at the next forum.
All of the nucf members present agreed they would like to attend the walk and a coach/mini bus will be provided from Newcastle. Andy will get quotes for the transport. £5 returnable deposit will be taken from each member wanting to attend.

The forum has the opportunity to have a banner to take to the walk to use during the march/parade. Ideas were discussed as to how the design of the banner. Nearer the walk date Carl from Plummer Ct will be asked to come to the nucf to help with the banner design.

The nucf will have a stall at the UKRW. We discussed what the stall should look like and members agreed to take turns to run the stall. Possible ‘attractions’ on the stall would be a smoothie bike, cooking demo, use of the beer goggles, shares and information posters and leaflets.

Sponsored walk
As previously discussed the nucf will be doing a sponsored walk on 25/07/15 from St Mary’s Lighthouse to the Priory. Members to meet at the lighthouse at 1.00pm sponsorship forums have been handed out but are totally voluntary.

Guest Speakers?
Mick Portis from Lifeline will be the guest speaker at the next forum. Suggestions for future speakers; Lionel Joyce, Zoe (representing Clear Minds) Eileen Ronan and Vera Baird. Andy will contact people for future guest speakers.

New Service Update
Andy informed the forum that Shelter are hoping to open a new housing service in Newcastle specifically looking at supporting families. There is a chance to meet Lindsey from Shelter on Monday to discuss the service and potentially share some of our life experiences around this. The Feelings Wheel (Developed by Dr Gloria Wilcox)

Some of us find it difficult to connect with our emotions and feelings. The Feelings Wheel by Dr. Gloria Willcox, shown below helps you to identify the original main emotion you are experiencing and connects this with other linked groups of emotions, which branch off from the central circle. This helps you to identify the root of your feelings by tracing back to one of the main emotions in the centre of the chart.

In the centre of the Circle the main Feelings are identified as being:
Sad, Mad, Scared, Joyful, Powerful and Peaceful

From these you can branch out into a more specific feeling.
So you can either work from the inner circle outwards e.g: Mad – Hurt – Distant, or from the outer circle towards the centre e.g: Relaxed – Content – Peaceful.

Have fun identifying your feelings at different times, whenever your mood changes and you may even be surprised at how you are truly feeling!
